A Historic Milestone for FISM
The 2025 FISM World Championships of Magic in Turin marks a groundbreaking achievement: for the first time, FISM has authorized the inclusion of Demonstration Categories. This initiative allows the organizing committee to introduce two innovative categories, with the potential to elevate them to official status if successfully presented at two consecutive championships.
What is Online Magic?
Online Magic is a modern evolution of magic performance tailored for digital platforms. It embraces interactive, engaging, and visually striking effects designed specifically for online audiences, maintaining the essence of live magic while leveraging the possibilities of digital communication. This category seeks to bridge the gap between traditional magic and contemporary digital entertainment.
1. Participation Requirements
- Participants must submit a video, preferably in vertical format, with a duration of maximum 1 minute and 30 seconds.
- The video can be filmed in either a public or private setting.
- No digital post production editing. Every other trick is allowed
- Teasers or promotional videos are not accepted.
- Participants might be asked to submit a separate explanation video detailing the method used. This is required to verify that no video special effects have been used. This video is strictly for the judges and will not be publicly available.
- To submit a video, fill the application form and pay a €20 fee.
- If the video includes music, the participant must hold all necessary rights for its use on social media and worldwide. In case of a copyright dispute, the participant will be disqualified.
2. Pre-Selection Details
- Submitted videos will be periodically published on official platforms.
- Non-compliant videos may be blocked at the sole discretion of the judging panel.
- The video receiving the most likes on social media will earn a wild card and automatically qualify as a finalist.
- A panel of online magic experts will review all submitted videos.
- The top 20 videos (including the wild card winner) will be selected by mid-April for the FISM WCM 2025 ONLINE MAGIC – DEMONSTRATION CATEGORY COMPETITION finals.
3. Timeline
- February 2025: Opening of video submissions.
- April 1, 2025: Deadline for video submissions.
- Mid-April 2025: Selection of the 20 finalists.
- FISM WCM 2025 (July 14-19, 2025): Presentation of the selected videos, final judging process, and awards ceremony.
4. Voting Process
- During the FISM WCM, the 20 selected videos will be shown at key moments throughout the event.
- WCM25 attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite video through an official app.
- The audience vote will be considered alongside the judges’ evaluations, which will follow the official FISM grading scale.
5. Awards and Ceremonies
- The awards will be announced before the official FISM WCM award ceremony.
The awards ceremony for the Demonstration Categories will be held on the main stage before the official FISM WCM ceremony.

- No video tricks, special effects (FX), or digital editing that alters the magic effect are allowed.
- Teasers or promotional videos are not accepted.
- Participants must also submit a separate explanation video detailing the method used. This is required to verify that no video special effects have been used. This video is strictly for the judges and will not be publicly available.
- Each artist may submit multiple videos, but for each submission, a separate application form must be completed, and a €20 fee must be paid individually.

- Online Magician of the Year – Awarded to a magician who represents magic online, upholds the art’s values, and positively contributes to the community.
- Breakout Online Magician of the Year – Recognizing a magician who has shown significant growth online and is making an impact despite being relatively new to the scene.
